Smooth edges are a standard element of carpet installations and are installed around the perimeter of rooms and on staircases. They use upward pointing tacks to grip the carpet and hold it under tension, so it remains in place, and also provides a clean looking finish. It may be possible to feel the smooth edge pins through the carpet after it has been installed. You can find a useful fact sheet here from Carpet Call.

A few simple maintenance procedures to be followed in order to keep your timber, hardwood, laminate or floating floors in a like-new condition.
Timber/Hardwood Flooring - We recommend the use of Universal Polish periodically (6-18 monthly intervals, depending on traffic).
Laminate Flooring - For stain removal on laminate floors the use of acetone or methylated spirits with a cloth to the area to be treated, allow to stand a few minutes then rub dry. Repeat if necessary. Finally, wipe with a well rung damp cloth.

Timber flooring requires special care. It may be necessary to tint windows or draw shades to prevent unfiltered direct sunlight from fading or changing the colour of the floor or causing excessive expansion and contraction which may damage the timber floor. This is not covered under warranty.
